Been reading for hours now, and its obvious that most of you guys know a lot about a/v receivers. So help me out, please! Getting a new JVC LCOS tv soon and want a new moderately priced ($500-$900)receiver that is HDTV friendly and can support a center speaker, subwoofer and five surround sound speakers. Component video capable, decent power, THX or equivelent, ease of operation, etc. Don't care about connecting a computer to it. Thoughts?
The H/K 525 is a very good receiver but like my wonderful Elite 45, last years model. It is hard to recommend something without knowing what speakers ypu plan on using but I would also say look at the Elite 53 which can be had mail order in your price range and even the Elite 55 which you can find at dynaco.com for $899. Also look at the Marantz line from the 5400 to the 7400.
