All you old ecoustics vets, what ya pimpin for systems these days? Iâm 60 yrs old now and much has changed in the last few years. Retirement is looming so slowing down fast with the HiFi bug.
Well, I no longer have a big dog living room system or home theater. I have a tiny dedicated listening space which will be perfect going in to retirement next year. Was divorced 5 yrs ago and remarried. Living in a townhome. As social services workers we are priced out of even a modest house here so this is where we will be.
Presently listening to:
Croft Acoustics Phono Integrated Harbeth P3ESR's Audiolab 6000CDT/Border Patrol DAC SEi Rega P3/Neo PSU w/Nagaoka MP-200 Black Cat cables
Other bits and bobs that I can bring out of the closet are a Rega Brio, Rega IO, Audience Ohno cables and Spendor Classic 3/1 speakers (my most expensive speakers).
I never had the room to get into real high end audio. Moving into a new condo afforded the ability to run multi-room systems with in ceiling speakers. Still use mostly for HT, but here it is:
Marantz SR7011 OPPO BD player UDP-203 4K Monitor Audio speakers (9) Old Squeezebox player, still the best
Anyone have any recommendations on a set of speakers for use in a bathroom (will be hooked up to a multi-zone receiver)?? Either in-wall, in-ceiling, or wall mount. Any and all ideas encouraged. Thanks!
I've got simple setup with Bluesound Node + Genelec G3 speakers. I love the simplicity and the sound. Planning to upgrade though, so any suggestions? Prefer Genelecs..
After having huge systems with digital sources, I went back to analog. Turntable, phono stage, amps, standmount speakers, bass units. To make more specific suggestions we need the usual information. Room, budget, music preference.
