Posted on One of my boys picked up a Pyramid preamp. I told him that it was a POS. Did I inform him correctly? |

Posted on . Depends on what his definition of crap is. Just to pick it up, no, it's not crap. To actually use it though and expect good and lasting results? Well, you were at the least in the right ball park. The thing to always remember about car gear is, those guys have completely different rules than home listeners. What home audio listener would even think you could have a power amp that puts out 2.5kwatt at 1 Ohm? And from a 12 VDC source! That is some serious rules of physics bending. I think what most Pyramid buyers expect is the d@mn thing will get stolen before it catches on fire. Did your son's new amp have any part of a console still attached to it? . |
