Hawk | Smitty: Thank you for sharing this with us! Good to know. |
| Hawk, you're welcome. Boy, that Outlaw LFM-1 subwoofer sure looks like it's going to be a dandy! |
Hawk | I agree. That price in unbelievable for a 12" sub designed by Dr. Hsu! |
G-Man | I agree with Hawk and Smitty---sounds like it is going to be a "Bracket Buster" for subs in the $450 to $1,000 range. Dr. Hsu may well learn to regret helping out those Outlaws as it could cut into his sales of the VTF-2 at $499 and the VTF-3 at $849. Certainly seems like a boatload of great performance for $579. Will be interesting to see if it can actually pump out anywhere near 115 db's at 25 Hz with 2% distortion. That is incredible--particularly at that price. Not that my ears would tolerate 115 db's. At 100 db's I feel like I am next to a jet plane taking off. But even if it gets to 105 db's at 25 Hz at 2% that is wonderful performance and could fill a big room. Imagine a pair of them--in a 30 foot x 30 foot room. It could ruin the subwoofer industry for those selling high end subs from $1500 to $5,000. I guess there will always be a place for those that want to have a sub that hits 16-20 Hz. Pretty rare to find ones that can do that at over 100 db's--not to mention without significant distortion. |
