Keep checking back on those sites. You've tried it, I'm sure, but google might find something in a place you weren't expecting. There are still many speaker stands that will work in place of the Dyn stands.
make a set, or have someone who knows cabinetry make you a set to similar specifications?
I needed a stand for my KEF center channel to go beneath a wall-mounted plasma TV. I made my own, using oak plywood, and banister railing wood for the vertical "stand" portion. a table saw, a router, and a jig saw, then some stain or veneer and you have yourself a lovely stand.
I like your advice GW. Ald, if you DIY speaker stands, you can also paint the stands to match the speakers or carpet/floor or you could paint them a transitional color. I might do something like that later on myself.
