Last night I noticed some very slight distortion when high notes were hit on vocal tracks. It happened when listening to 2ch on a pair of B&W CDM9NTs being driven by a Yamaha Rx-V620. It was more noticeable on some tracks than others.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this? Could it be the use of an underpowered receiver (which, I hope to upgrade in the near future)? It it likely a problem with the speakers? The speakers are relatively new, so that would be a real bummer (though, they are still under warranty).
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greately appreciated. Thanks!

I might even be your CD player and its D/A converter. What kind of CD do you have? Do you use it's D/A converter or the receiver's?

Hmm... that never even ocurred to me.
It's an older Sony 5-disc DVD/Cd player. It's hooked up using an optical cable. Not sure which D/A converted I'm using (how do I go about figuring that out?)
