I wanted to get a used phonograph to play some of my old records. I got a Crosely turntable from 2002 off craigs list and it played fine, but the speakers sound, well like a cheap 1972 set of speakers. I flipped it over unscrewed the bottom and cut the speaker wires. I had a 5 foot ling extension headphone wire (with male and female ends) so I could plug in my headphones or computer speakers (that has a subwoofer). I cut off the male end, then connected the red to the positive speaker wire, and the yellow to the other positive speaker wire, and then took only one speaker ground and connected it to the ground in the new jack wire. flipped it over and turned it on, I noticed a humm right away, so I connected the second speaker ground as well, but it didnt change at all. any suggestions?
