I'm looking for a subwoofer to use in HT only. I have AR towers for stereo listening that have plenty of base (rated down to 35Hz) so I don't necessarily need a sub that is good for music. My room is quite large (30' x 25') but the HT area is only 10' x 12' or so.
I was considering the D-Box David 303 (available at costco in Canada) for C$250-C$300. Some other subs and their local pricing are: Athena AS-P400 C$475; JBL E150P C$500; Polk Audio PSW202 C$350; Velodyne VX10BV C$300; Velodyne CHT-10 C$615. I believe Paradigm are reasonably priced here but haven't looked into them yet.

Since you're in Canada, why don't you check out what's going on at Creative Sound Solutions? They offer packages consisting of the highly acclaimed Adire Tempest or Adire DPL12 drivers with the AVA250 amp. A very tough combo to beat for the price.
