Which home theater audio system should I buy?

Personally, with that budget, I would look for an amp from Denon, Harmon/Kardon, Cambridge Audio, NAD, or Marantz. I'd buy the best quality front speakers I could fit into my budget, and save the rest of the speakers and sub for when I have some more money to spend.
