I recently came into a NHT SW2 passive subwoofer. I have a new Denon AVR 391 receiver which my speakers are currently hooked up to. Now I know that the NHT SW2 can't hook up directly to the receiver, but I was wondering what specific amp I should get for it. I'm pretty sure I understand the idea of what I need to do, hook the pre out sub rca cable to the amp, which I can then connect to the sub with regular speaker wire, I'm just not sure what type of amp I need for this.
Does your AVR have built in bass management (i.e. can you set the LFE crossover point on your receiver)? If so, then any mono power amp will do. I heard of people using the Outlaw 2200 mono with good results. You could also look at Parts Express for a cheap plate amp.
