I have an old (circa 1993) Bose Lifestyle 5 system. Haven't used it in years and then used it last week end for an anniversary slide presentation. Hooked audio from a Sony DVD player to control head video audio input. Connected powered woofer/satelite speakers to zone 1 output. Connected Bose powered bookshelf speakers to zone 2. No audio. Connected bookshelf speakers to Tape out and worked fine. Called Bose and my unit is no longer supported and they wont repair but will trade my unit for a refurbished newer system for $1000. I am electronically inclined and work in the telecommunications industry and so thought I may attempt to repair myself. Have not opened control head and don't know what I might find when I do. Thinking maybe a loose connection, dirty solder joint or maybe a bad output capacitor. Any suggestions anyone?
