I'm looking for a speaker that is not fatiguing or too bright and that you can listen to for long periods of time and that has a good soundstage and kick to it for a large room. This is for 2 channel music only. NO movies. I mainly listen to all kinds of rock music but I do listen to real music sometimes. My budget is $1,000. I can get a good deal on a pair of Energy RC-50's. ANyone have any experience with them? |

Not sure about that specific model, just Energy in general. Try them out and see if you like them. Make sure your music is uncompressed. Apple Lossless works great, as does FLAC. |

(Doesn't come with the connecting cable from your soundcard) You can get a nice DAC or something with the left over - what would further upgrade the soundcard and give you a nice source - rivalling upscale CD players. If you really want to use the HK receiver, I would consider the Axiom Audio speakers : http://www.axiomaudio.com/m3.html |

Bronze Member Username: Unreal_tUnited States Post Number: 95 Registered: Feb-06 | those monitor audio's are 6ohms. My receiver has a rating for 8ohm and 4ohm. I can run a 6 ohm speaker? By the way there is no adjustment on the back at all of the receiver for the 8 or 4 ohm |

Well it says my receiver does 120watts into 8ohms or 150 watts into 4ohms and it says the monitor audio handles a max 125watts. Wouldn't the speakers be getting more than the recommended amount? Maybe damage the speakers? |
