So doesnt need to be very musical just a nice bass explosion for action movies lol. Price range is 100 bucks. Dayton audio powered 8 and box http://cgi.ebay.com/Dayton-Audio-SUB-80-Powered-8-Subwoofer-System-/290432580673 ?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item439f217c41#ht_500wt_1154 Yamaha 8" powered sub and box http://cgi.ebay.com/YAMAHA-sub-POWERED-subwoofer-HOME-THEATER-8-YST-SW012-/16043 5318332?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item255ab0ae3c#ht_830wt_911 Or use my own current box with this sub and a small plate amp to power it. I hear these subs rock. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-832&FTR=&CFID=297332 45&CFTOKEN=27912956 |

You are somewhat wasting your money (though I'm not at all familiar with the demands xbox places on a subwoofer). If all you can spend is $100, just about anything is equally bad. PartsExpress has a good reputation, I'd have to give the nod to their Dayton line if these are my only choices. The TangBang driver is 83dB which will eat up all of the plate amp's power before you even hear it making noise unless you are sitting right on top of it. Even then, you don't know whether your box is suited to that driver. . |
