New member Username: Eli19kPost Number: 3 Registered: Feb-10 | I just purchased a Pro-Ject Debut III and while listening to an a LP (a 180 Gram reissue) and the Debut III is skipping at times that this record didnt on my old turntable a budget model sony usb turntable. I adjusted my counterweight and some of the skipping is gone but not all of it. this is my only LP to do this while playing. is this normal when going to a higher quality system that im guessing has much lower tolerances? |

Make certain you've properly adjusted the arm and the anti-skating; http://www.audiophilia.com/features/cartridge_setup.htm Which cartridge are you using? Is the bottom of the cartridge rubbing on the LP surface due to any warps in the disc? Set the arm down in the lead in groove and slowly rotate the platter by hand to check for sufficient clearance between the disc and the cartridge bottom. . |
