Silver Member Username: NmytreePost Number: 397 Registered: Aug-04 | Audioholics exposes LexiCON For $3,500 LexiCON offers you the Oppo BDP-83, squashed into a nifty chassis (including the BDP-83's original chassis), proprietary ventilation cutouts on the bottom of LexiCON's chassis and a shiny faceplate. "Proprietary improvements to Oppo BDP-83" ? Uh, no. Now, we all know companies have been doing this for decades, with usually lower level players.....at much lower prices. But $3000 up from the Oppo's retail price, for simply a chassis and shoving the Oppo player in there? Wow!! That's bad. http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/transports/high-definition-dvd-players-hd-dvd-blu-ray/lexicon-bd-30-blu-ray-oppo-clone/oppo-inside-lexicon-outside-1 |

At least the used Lexicons now are worth a lot less than their Bryston counterparts. I'd be more apt to buy rebadged Oppo in the guise of a CA than a Lexicon. Then again, why not just buy the Oppo? |
