I'm thinking about the Pioneer VSX-919ah, Denon AVR-1610 and Onkyo TX-SR607.
I want to be sure I get the best one, and well, I'm not really an expert in these things... Music is the most important thing for me I guess, next to movies and games. So I kinda want a full sound I don't care about how many HDMI inputs the receiver has, 3 is good enough for me! Also, can one of these amplifiers handle a pre-amp? (and can any amplifier be used as a pre-amp?)
I am interested in the same topic. I have found an Onkyo TX-SR607 listed for $388 and a Denon AVR 1610 for $379. Are either of these too much if all I really want to do is watch TV and run the sound through my stereo speakers. For now, I might consider adding a center channel speaker but I do not really need 7.1 (since I am months/years away from adding back speakers). Any suggestions, while I have your attention, on a good center channel speaker?
