Sunday, December 13, 2009 - 19:55 GMT I havent bought a new receiver in 20 years so please bear with me. It seems that this receiver doesnt meet all my needs.I obviously didnt do enough research. I cant connect my turntable and there is no input for my Sony cdr. What it does have is a tape input which the more expensive Sonys do not. Are there any external devices that can help me? Thanks

Monday, December 14, 2009 - 00:03 GMT The turntable is a run of the mill Denon. The speakers are old Technics. My old receiver(which I still have) is a Technics and it had inputs for my cdr, turntable, and tape.

Monday, December 14, 2009 - 00:52 GMT Anything but a Sony... or worse, a Bose. What's the budget? If I had an extra 600 bucks USD right now (which I don't, BTW), I'd order one of these: http://outlawaudio.com/products/rr2150.html

Monday, December 14, 2009 - 02:35 GMT For switching, the Outlaw has a tape loop to do that, if I understand your cdr correctly? Oherwise, the receiver will play any source which is decoded before going into the receiver. The RR2150 has no internal DAC.
