I'm on a budget and would like to upgrade my Logitech Z-5500 speakers. What do you think of the Energy speakers? Also what good price subwoofer and receiver would you recommend for this setup? Id like a 5.1 receiver so if i want to upgrade to 5.1 later on i can.

Thanks

Tommy, cn you see me?
sorry, just had to.

You might be better served by deciding what you want more, music or movies.

A decently seup stereo can get close to center channel dialogue, but placement is critical.

Energy have some pretty good HT packages.
The Take series has been around for a long time, but have seen some prety good competition for a long time.

Older series Energy, like the 22 series were very good as well.

The RC-10 is a very good all around speaker and has received a number of good write ups. For the right price it's a hard one to beat.

Energy builds some great subs that would work well with the RC-10. You might want to souce out an Energy sub to match....can beat the synergy.

This is the setup i just bought.

Energy RC-10 (Rosenut) - Pair
Yamaha RX-V559 Receiver
Sony Saw3000 Subwoofer
12 Gauge Wire

Remember i am upgrading from a lousy Logitech Z-5500 HTS. Also this new setup is for my computer (with a high end sound card) not TV, i don't have an HD TV (and not planning on getting one anytime in the future).

You could regurgitate a better sub than Sony markets.

my room is extremely small, i looked everywhere and didnt want to spend $200 or $300 on a subwoofer and this one sounded better than the polk so i decided this one. for only $120 it was a good choice. im not an audiphile just someone that wants an upgrade from z-5500.

My room is small (10x8). I got a 6.1 receiver because i might upgrade in future but now all i need is a good 2.1. Thanks though for the recommendation.
