Which brand is better for grunt, true power and bass? Nad, Marants, Onkyo or Krell?

Hello. I am about to make a final decision an my integrated stereo amp brand for my Cerwin Vega D-9's.. I'm sure lots of you know me. I'm talking to you Nuck! lol. Anyway, I want to make my decision based on which amp has more grunt, bass and true clean power. Would a nad integ. stereo amp suit me better or Marantz and all the others I listed be better? And also, is it better to go with a integ. stereo amp or should I go with separates? for eg, the source, pre, eq, and power amp?

Between those two, NAD. Have you thought about Rotel?

Yea. I heard of rotel. That is a bit more on the high high audiophile side. Too clean or light and not enough "dirt". That is not my style. haha. If I get a NAD stereo integ. amp and connect it to my A/V receiver so I don't waste my A/V, will I lose the bass tones and qualities from the NAD? In other words, the receiver is the pre pre, the NAD stereo amp will be the pre, and then the power amp. Quality loss from the NAD?

Julien, if you want to try a Rotel power amp, send me a pm.
You can try mine.
It is a 5 channel amp, you can bi-amp the CV's.
Maybe...

I'd take Rotel over NAD. And a half decent Rotel integrated will slap your CV's.

Nobody's mentioned the Krell? In terms of sheer grunt, power and slam, the Krell will have the rest of these amps for breakfast. I don't find that Krells time particularly well, but then neither do the Marantz or Rotels - the NAD is a bit more fluid in this respect, but I'd be surprised if you found an NAD with the same fidelity and power, slam and grunt.

I didn't mention Krell because it's in a price class not associated with CV speakers. Also if he thinks that Rotel "is a bit more on the high high audiophile side"...well, nuff said !

I believe this might be the one Frank had in mind. For a Krell it's big bang for the buck at around $5000 U.S. I believe - but whether that's affordable all depends and at that price there is other gear out there to compare with:

Again George, the OP stated that Rotel "is a bit more on the high high audiophile side". Where does Krell fit into that...lol...probably doesn't. Never know I guess.

Why not go proaudio like Behringer or a used Carver amp.

Frank, I think it has been established pretty well that this guy has no idea what he is talking about so he probably didn't know what Krell was.

.

I suspect he asks the same question on several forums and then picks the one with the answers he prefers to hear.

I'll vouch for Rotel albeit from the 70s. And dirty as in literally dirty! (till I cleaned it).

I do like my Rotel, for most any and every thing that plays thru it.
As for Carver, I gave my old 2000 receiver to Son-in-law several years back when we upgraded to the Rotel. He's never hooked it up.
Insult to injury, they robbed knobs off it a few years ago to for a robot costume !!! The pain ..
