New member Username: RaisinbrancrunchPost Number: 1 Registered: May-09 | I have an Acoustic Audio Passive Subwoofer. 300 watts max 8OHM Model HD-S10 Will be in wall mounted. I have an Onkyo Subwoofer Amp. Model SKW-560 Has Output level control and 1 black rca line input. I purchased this used. I am at a loss as to how to hook this up to the subwoofer. The subwoofer has 4 posts(2+ and 2-): http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/RaisinBranCrunch/subwoofer.jpg The amp. has a slew of wires coming out the back: http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/RaisinBranCrunch/amp.jpg Black and Red that clearly connect to the speaker posts. Then it has a Red/Black/Red (in a wire harness) that looks like it coming from the output level control. Also has a Black/White (in a wire harness) that's coming from the AC power. Am I missing a component to make this work? I just want to be able to plug the sub out from my receiver to the sub in on this amp. How do I make that happen? Am somewhat of a novice at this type of thing...any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

Also has a Black/White (in a wire harness) that's coming from the AC power." It's not coming "from" the level control, it's going to the level control. This amp was intended for a system with the appropriate connectors. You'll need to convert the connector ends to the appropriate connectors to accept your signal and AC input. Doing this will make this amplifier useless with the system it was intended to pair with. Is this something you really want to do? This would appear to be a subwoofer amlifier from soemthing on the order of a rack system. Why not just buy a real plate amp for your sub and get better quality? . |

Since the auction has expired I can't post the link but here is an image: http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff245/RaisinBranCrunch/onkyoAmp.jpg As you can see in the ad it only shows the 2 speaker wires coming out the back. Seemed like exactly what I needed, a small plate amp. From reading replies in other forums and here I'm just gonna eat the shipping and return it. |
