| This is my first post here, so please be gentle! I haven't seriously looked at audio equipment for 20 years, so this is an all new world. I listen to music about 60% of the time and watch movies the other 40%. I don't have a dedicated room for theatre, but a "home office" room about 14x20. I have a Kenwood VR-6050 for a receiver for now. I had pretty much decided on the Ascend Acoustics CBM 170's with the HSU VT2 sub for now, planning on getting center and surround speakers later. The I saw what seems to be a great deal on a Rocket by Onix Extremely Luscious Theater 1 surround system at AV123. From what I have seen on this and other forums, the Rocket speakers are almost as well respected as the Ascends, so I'm wondering if it might be better to spend the $900 or so on a complete system. What do you guys think? By the way, I know it would be best to listen to speakers myself, but I'm working overseas and have no chance to do so. Thanks! |
