Bryston watts...

I was going through the packaging for my Power Pac 120's and I found the spec sheets for both amps (oh which I still 17 years of warranty left - hoo-ah!). The spec sheet reported one amp running at 150 watts at 8 ohms and the other 152 watts at 8 ohms. Is this typical of Bryston amps to overclocked above and beyond their stated wattage?

Not that I'm complaining...

In my experience, its very typical. The specs in the literature (not the test sheet) state worse case scenario.

My B60 gets somewhere in the 70s according to the test sheet.

If you're getting rid of the Power Pacs or anything else Bryston, PM me. I may be interested.

Thanks Stu. Not sure if I'm quite ready to sell the Power Pacs just yet.

What was the 4ohm number, DM?

There was nothing on there about it being tested at 4 ohms Nuck. The manual states that it pushes 200w at 4 ohms. I suspect it would actually be a fair bit more than that.

I'm not sure if I'm quite ready to buy them yet either. I figured you weren't quite ready to get rid of them yet.

I've got my eye on their DAC, but its a bit steep for my budget and my Apollo is no slouch.

When/if you sell any of the Bryston gear, let me know.
