They sound quite good ! Check the reviews on them - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T4GGLJ_enUS308US309&q=insignia+speakers+ ns-b2111+reviews Anyone building an affordable system can do it now - with a bit of class even. Students can now afford good sounds for mere few hundred $. with the Sony SCD-CE595 SACD/CD Changer - another price breaking product. Add audiosource pre and power amp 300, you have a powerful and sweet system for a few hundred dollars. If you are choosy, you can get good sounds for peanuts. We can give them to our children, parents, loved ones... The speakers are beautiful looking, and sound is much better than you would expect from the price - or even at several times the price. JV here has 2 pairs mounted double ended and likes them enough to keep them. Also think Infinity Beta 20. https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-audio/19.html |

IMHO that would likely ruin some of the specialness of the single point source quality of the speaker, though it would increase it's ability to play loudly. |
