Saturday, October 18, 2008 - 01:16 GMT and the other 4 LPs stryvn??? I still haven't played the Gilmour Gdansk CDs nor the DVD, though I do have a slightly used Onkyo 605 that I may swap in before I play the CD. It's awful swapping gear around. Here I get a state of the art, more or less, HT receiver and I let it sit as I hate changing out gear. That and HT is not to me like 2 channel is. But for under $150 I could not pass the 605 up.

Friday, October 24, 2008 - 08:01 GMT Christopher Molloy- There was an interesting film on Dylan on TV. Maybe available on DVD? Still tracking you Art. Just played her again yesterday. Also other people you have been playing. For example I played Monk, Underground on vinyl yesterday. That is the coolest album cover with the stuffed German soldier and the real cow in his crib! I had forgotten about the vocal cut by Jon Hendrics. Overlapping some too with stryvn and George and Niel.

Friday, October 24, 2008 - 17:40 GMT That Dylan flick is featuring his very earliest filmed performances and how he riled up the folk boys by not sticking to the format. We played "Eat a Peach" Allman Bros a million times back when it was new. It must be burried in the stacks there.

Monday, October 27, 2008 - 04:12 GMT Bill Evans Trio - Consecration (The Final Recordings, Part 2), Disc Eight Wonderful collection. Even though many of the tunes are repeated on multiple discs, the sets are on different nights and are executed very differently. The mark of a true musical genious is to be able to play the same tune a myriad of different ways, and to make each seem the definitive way to play it. The energy on this collection completely belies the artist's health at the time, just two short weeks before his death.
