Entry-level Integra system a salesman advised I Get -- Opinions?

I had a salesman help me pick out a mid-level home theater/stereo system for my (kinda small) apt. (I didn't buy it yet.) I wanted really good music audio and decent home theater audio, and a DVD player with DVD-A capability.
He advised I stick with Integra components (over Denon). Here is what he advised I get...
Integra CDC 3.4 CD Changer (coming soon) Integra DPS 8.3 DVD Player Integra DTR 5.4 Receiver Totem Dreamcatcher Speakers
Although the system sounded good (definitely better than with klipsch speakers), it didn't feel right to me. I'm not sure about his insistence that anything below the $1800 Totem speakers would sound like crap...
Also, I've never used Integra products before...usually Denon, Sony, or Pioneer.
Suggestions? Thanks!
