I read the the Guitar Hero release of Death Magnetic does not have the same level of dynamic compression that the CD release has. I'm downloading it now in FLAC format to check it out. I don't feel one ioata of guilt either - I've aleady bought the CD, and if a band won't release a CD without dynamic compression I have a right to obtain a clear version of it after shelling out my 16 bucks. In fact I missed out on the 3cd/2dvd version Best Buy was offering for $49.99 a few days ago. I think there was a limited amount at that price both for walk-ins and online. I really got into the flow of their instrumental "Suicide and Redemption". Drums were more like earlier Metallica. Strong guitar work to be found as well. |
