Saturday, September 13, 2008 - 20:12 GMT George, I just picked up that DS album the other day. I must admit, I don't really care for the Money For Nothing and Walk of Life pop stuff but the rest of the album is solid, IMO. I much prefer earlier DS. Do you have any of Knopfler's solo stuff? Sgt Peppers vinyl. Me and the 6 year old are kickin' back enjoying this one....again!

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - 19:48 GMT I'm looking forward to the opportunity to serve the folks of SW Louisiana. They need our help at this point and Oregonians are always at the forefront. I believe that NW Medical Teams is already down there. It's the least an agency like the Department of Human Services can do to pitch in. I can't say enough about my coworkers. We're going into the busiest season here in our office and due to various reasons we are already down nearly 40% of our workers. They warmly and genuinely support our effort and my need to serve. Great bunch of folks to work with. Hope to hear some great Zydeco down there..lol!

Saturday, September 20, 2008 - 14:00 GMT I pulled out Paul Simon 'crimes and misdemeanors' and cleaned it up with the ol Pledge treatment, also treating the edge to fuscia#23 or whatever the pen is, on the edge. The trans/dac picked up the cd as hdcd this time, which really surprised me, as it is not labelled as such. Now, I get a whole new version of the recording. Me and Julio is actually recoeded from vinyl, it seems, as the wow is apparant in the sub. There is a lot more air in the song, and the disc altogether. The 'whoop whoop' in the song is fully different then before, so much so that I pulled the speakers closer to the wall to reinforce the lower registers and balance it out. I love this sport!

Sunday, September 21, 2008 - 13:18 GMT You've got an awesome memory Dave. I remembered is was in the 90's but you were spot on. The Elastica album was 1994, 1995 by Geffen Records. I like all the tracks on it and the british accents. I have it on CD. I wonder if it would sound better on vinyl, however there is a lot of digital mixing, so maybe no real differnce. Cheers!
