Silver Member Username: ValeemPost Number: 108 Registered: Dec-03 | It's not a good idea to run two speakers from one output as you will be putting too much load on that channel. Anyway who says you need to use a conventional centre speaker (one tweeter and two mid-bass units). I've tried experimenting with a bookshelf speaker as a centre and it performed really well (better in my instance than the dedicated center I have). I think a centre is designed with the drivers placed horizontally to aid in it's placement and aesthetics (AFAIK) than any sonic benefits it might gain from being designed that way. You could buy a pair of bookshelf speakers and use one as a centre and the other as a centre rear if you can accomodate the front one easily but this would only apply if you had 6.1 (or keep the other one until you go 6.1) or ask a reatailer to split a pair (unlikely). Anyway enough rambling you need a conventional centre....lol! |
