I just purchased a Yamaha HTR-6140 AV receiver and I am connecting it my Toshiba 62MX195 HDTV and Toshiba HD-A1 DVD player. I also have a 8300 Scientific Atlantic HD DVR through Comcast and an RCA DRC8030N DVD Recorder. I am now connecting everything together and determining what additional cabling I will need to buy.
According to the HTR-6140 manual, it appears I will need to purchase THREE separate HDMI cables: 1) Connect HTR-6140 to the Toshiba HD-A1 2) Connect HTR-6140 to the 8300 Scientific Atlantic HD DVR 3) Connect HTR-6140 to the 62MX195 HDTV
Additionally, it says that to connect the HTR-6140 to the 62MX195 HDTV, I will need to purchase another set of component cables. Finally, it appears to correctly connect the RCA DRC8030N DVD Recorder I will need TWO more sets of red/white/yellow cables as well as another set of component cables. So, in all, it appears I will need to buy: 1) Three HDMI cables 2) Two sets of component cables 3) Two sets of red/white/yellow cables
Does that all sound right? Are there any other cables, etc. that I will need to buy to set up the above equipment? Any other tips or help appreciated!
