Friday, July 11, 2008 - 18:10 GMT Coldplay I noticed that like every radio station where I live is playing that - not that I'm unhappy about it! Not at all! - It's being played on "hit music" stations, variety stations, rock stations, soft rock stations, and all that. It's rather popular, isn't it?

Saturday, July 19, 2008 - 06:05 GMT Last night for the last couple of hours and now tonight... I can't listen to music... In fact the only thing I can tolerate is the sound of the wind blowing through the trees, watching the candles flicker in the fireplace...listening carefully to all of those night sounds that I miss so much. For the second straight night nothing in the music library looks as good as the sound of the summer night feels....

Saturday, July 19, 2008 - 15:13 GMT I have situations like that at times. It's better sometimes to listen to the absence of music (and the sounds in that) rather than music itself. But... Zombie Nation by Kernkraft 400 I was afraid to pass 6v (should be 98-100dB according to specs) to the speakers due to the high-frequency energy in the song (tweeter)... And there's no chance in torturing the rear speakers like that. The caps probably need to be replaced. Now that time that I said I listen to music at 95dB average seems stupid because that's really loud. 70dB is probably more accurate. Zombie...Nation.

Saturday, July 19, 2008 - 16:57 GMT Coldplay - Viva La Vida Wearing earplugs, I turned it up, out of curiosity. I was worried about blowing the tweeters. It was at 6v average, and then it crescendo'd ("I hear Jerusalem bells....") to an average of 18v (50-80w), then the peaks were around 25v. The volume startled me, and so did the gross distortion, so I turned it down fast. My speakers cannot handle 25v, at least not with acceptable distortion. That's 120-200w (~110dB) and these can probably only handle about 10v. I am just learning. How am I supposed to know exactly what cheap speakers sound like when overdriven with common levels of [peak] power?

Saturday, July 19, 2008 - 21:58 GMT Red has her girlfriends over today, so the tunes are coming from downstairs to broadcast into the back yard. I flipped in a girl's favorite, Bon Jovi GH...wow, this cd is just electric. It is a little uneven, but all the parts are there. The Velo sub never cranked better, although I woul still prefer something faster. Not too loud to sit in the room with, but close, as the broadcast is through one patio door. Good cd if you like the music, which is ok. Even better to entertain 6 or so good looking chicks. Sucks being a nerd.

Saturday, July 26, 2008 - 00:39 GMT Patrick, I checked and all of my Zep, including another II. All are Page / Grant with the box set I have Page / Marino. That includes two QUIEX SV-P 200 gram vinyl, ZOSO and In Through The Out Door. Do you have the Diament mastering? If so, stop by and we can compare!
