| Hello, It has been my misfortune to recently realise that the general quality of most pop CD releases is abysmal. More often than not forward sounding with the bass exaggerated leading to a fatiguing sound. I have recently upgraded my music system and find that it reveals poor recordings - making their flaws more obvious. Of course good recordings now sound fantastic but they seem to be few and far between in the pop world. My question is, is there any way that I can tame these poor recordings without reducing the overall sound quality of my system? Or is the only solution available to me to change my listening tastes to classical/blues and jazz where I understand the general recording quality is superior? Any comments would be appreciated.
