Will power double using 2 amps pre-out / amp-in?

Will I double the power using two identical amps preamp out of amp 1 out to amp in of amp 2 and preamp out of 2 to amp in of 1 without frying out everything<<<< If not do I use the amps in a crossover situation in order to double or add power? I have 2 two hundred watt amps same model @ 100 watts per chan ea. both have pre out and amp in. Is this applicable re: my first Q. ? Is there a better application to use these connections? I am running everything through a 12 chanl mixer.
