Tuesday, February 12, 2008 - 11:36 GMT Probably a silly question but is there any harm in opening up a speaker from the terminals at the rear to look inside? Just wondering about how the terminals are connected once you connect the wire cables? I wont be touching the box. Yes silly question I know..........

Tuesday, February 12, 2008 - 13:32 GMT Was actually for the Wharfedale XR1000 I actually opened them from the rear unscrewing the cable mounts and slightly pulling out mount. I then had a quick look and then proceeded to screw everyhting back up. Hope this was O'K to do?

Tuesday, February 12, 2008 - 13:50 GMT Sure, why not? It's good to be curious. Just don't fill your speaker with concrete. Inside joke...

Tuesday, February 12, 2008 - 14:00 GMT Thanks David......that was actually it....I was curious.... I actually opened them from the rear unscrewing the cable mounts and slightly and carefully pulling out the mount. (small looking motherboard/circuit board) I then had a quick look and then proceeded to put everthing back and screw everything back up. PS Reason for the answer from professionals is that this is causing a debate on one of the Hifi forums. One chap mentioned that it would have ruined the speaker by letting air in........??

Tuesday, February 12, 2008 - 18:29 GMT In a lot of cases there is a big open tube to let the air in...and out. Y'all might want to look into another hi-fi forum. Ohh, you just did!
