I have seen great reviews of m71 but none of m72i. The mission catalog claims that m72 gives an extended and deeper base. i am looking for BS with decent slamming power. I would really appreciate views on any other BS speaker within the same price range of the m72i.

You will indeed get deeper bass with the m72i. It's larger bass driver and higher power handling mean it will play louder and with more force than the m71i. In my opinion, if you have the space for it, the small difference in price means I would recommend the m72i.

The m72's are far better.amazing bass and depth for their size.very clean mids.heavy stands will further increase depth.

Stick with the m71i.
I have had these speakers for 2 months now and can't stop listening to them. Spend the money that you save over the m72i on better stands. Plus if you place m71i near the wall, you will get deeper bass as these speakers have a rear port.
One last note: I also have a pair of ProAc Tablette 50's (a speaker that costs 4 times as much as the m71i) and I would say the m71i gives me 95% of the listening pleasure I get from the ProAc's.
