Hello to One & All, I am new here. I was rocking out Last night. When out of the blue my Yamaha RX-V2300 Receiver quit playing. It is 3 yrs old .I have never had a problem before. I was at 3/4 vol and it was there for about 4 hrs. From what I have read on this site it seems the people here know what they are talking about. What can I do? I do not see a fuse or reset. Thanks John
You probably broke it. 3/4 volume for four hours is not really what this amplifier was meant to do.
Unplug the receiver from the wall outlet for about an hour. If it resets, you're in business.
Otherwise, if there's no external fuse, you aren't meant to do any service on the receiver. You should take it to a service center, if there's a simple fix - an internal fuse - they'll probably replace it at little to no cost to you.
Take out the screws, open up the case and see if there are some fuses in clips; push them up with a pencil or plastic spoon and see if they're blown. Be careful, some electricity could still be stored inside.
If the fuses are OK, let is sit for 24 hours uplugged; then you broke it.
