Monday, January 28, 2008 - 14:21 GMT His birthday is coming up in a few months so thought I'd plan ahead. I decided to go for a retro style and bought him two things. 1) The speakers-Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 75th Anniversary. (only 2000 pairs made, magnetic vintage cloth grills, real wax oiled walnut finish, certificate and documents etc). (far better than the older 8.1s sound imo) 2). The amp-NAD C3130. Hooked up to test it all and run it in for him, damn what a good sound!! The 3130 has more power than you'd think too. Take a look at the pictures...

Monday, January 28, 2008 - 15:43 GMT I wish we could those 9.1s on this side of the pond. In fact, Wharfedales in general have become pretty scarce of late.

Tuesday, January 29, 2008 - 04:50 GMT Nice to see that you really did come here to learn. Being nice to Dad gets you back points you lost with that lassie messing with your speakers. Good taste for sure.

Tuesday, January 29, 2008 - 12:25 GMT Wharfedale rare in the U.S? Poor you, I'd send you a pair if I was rich. I'm glad you all agree its a good gift, I'm confident he'll appreciate it. It was a hard job packing them back up, they even smell nice! Hopefully I can help him set it up in his work office if he wants it there. Certainly in safe hands, I'm not fussed about the silly dillemour with the 'party chick'. Old news and I dont even have the 8.1s anymore. They funded the 9.1s! I figured even though I couldnt really afford the stuff as a student I'd still get it because you never know how long you'll have someone. My granddad died 2 weeks ago. He was supposed to visit next month. Art, send him a link to this thread. He might feel influenced lol?
