New member Username: BspmedicPost Number: 1 Registered: Dec-07 | Need some advice. I have a new Denon A/V receiver and want to start a surround sound system with a couple of towers. Don't have lots of cash and have seen both speaker companies and some bragging of their products. Any suggestions out there? I could sure use the help from someone who has the knowledge I am lacking. Thanks. Brian |

New member Username: BspmedicPost Number: 2 Registered: Dec-07 | Nuck, I am just starting to assemble a system of some sort. I listen to an IPOD and Bose docking base now so I have nothing except the Denon A/V receiver. Varitey of music is expansive. Movies are watched only occasionally so the system should be music based. |

I ain't gonna bash your choice, because Denon avr's are very good HT products, but lack a reputation for super audio. That said, your receiver could work very well with sommore parts, just not where I would have started. If you want music, Brian, you really should have a good cdplayer or computer source. With full sized files, MP3 is bad. Bad.Bad.Bad. |

Like I have said just started and am trying to piece something together spending a little money at a time. Our music selections vary from Norah Jones to the Dead Milkmen to Johnny Cash to Joni Mitchell. The Denon is still in the box so give me a bone. Looking to spend $300 on a reciever and I have no idea about a cd player. Can you help? |

The DVD 37 performs like a champ. |

Gold Member Username: ExerciseguyPost Number: 1624 Registered: Oct-04 | Brian, I wouldn't wait to scoop up that HK, I don't expect them to last long at that price. If you're on a shoestring budget, consider the Polk R Series from Fry's. http://shop1.outpost.com/%7BC-Q-Olv6FprbL+JJueroTg**.node2%7D/product/4965501;jsessionid=C-Q-Olv6FprbL+JJueroTg**.node2?site=sr:SE ARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG http://shop1.outpost.com/%7BC-Q-Olv6FprbL+JJueroTg**.node2%7D/product/4965491;jsessionid=C-Q-Olv6FprbL+JJueroTg**.node2?site=sr:SE ARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG http://shop1.outpost.com/%7BC-Q-Olv6FprbL+JJueroTg**.node2%7D/product/4966251;jsessionid=C-Q-Olv6FprbL+JJueroTg**.node2?site=sr:SE ARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG If you can spend a bit more, I suggest you look at the Infinity Primus Series. |
