Why pre & power amp should not be switched off?

I heard from couple of sites that the pre- power amp should NOT be powered down immediately after playing for couple of hours.

I do not understand the reason behind it. Can someone explain the reason behind it please?

Thanks in advance.

.

You mean let them idle for a few hours after you have finished listening and then turn them off? That's a new one on me. I generally leave my gear on all the time. But I've never heard of letting a pre amp cool down. I can guess at a very "out there" reason but it is too extreme to be of any consequence.

Lately I do not turn anything off either, except the Tuner as I thought I might have been getting some bleed over from it.

I leave everyting on except for my processor.
Unless Im going to be out of town for more than a few days, then it all goes down.

For just the pre(is it tubed?), I cannot imagine why.
My class A amps are shut down after use and warmed for 10 mins before use again.
