The project will require 144 of Bose's excellent 2.5" cone drivers, 500000 watts of amplification, and a columnar sealed box. I forsee a bipolar configuration to help minimize box resonance. In addition, the fins on the heat sinks of the amplifier will be shaped like shark fins, because that would be cool. Here is a schematic. |

Silver Member Username: StefanomVienna, VA United States Post Number: 974 Registered: Apr-06 | No downfiring models yet, although one is in development. However, instead of front/rear firing, I could convert this speaker into a side firing model for a nominal fee. |
Silver Member Username: StefanomVienna, VA United States Post Number: 975 Registered: Apr-06 | I'm also developing a subwoofer that utilizes an 18" long throw driver coupled to 32 2.5" paper cone passive radiators. |

It utilizes a 1" plutonium dome driver in a transmission line box. I suspect people will have a new meaning of "radiant highs" after listening to this speaker. And thanks to the transmission line and generous cabinet dimensions, I didn't have to skimp on bass either. Rated response is down to 20Hz in room. I will warn though that this speaker requires a very robust amplifier to reach its potential. |
