I'm currently using a crappy Intertan 9V battery powered preamp from Radioshack. I'd like something that is of a little better quality and warmer tone than what I have. The turntable in question is a Gemini XL-500II. what about the models on www.phonopreamps.com? |

Also, if you are willing to spend more, look at the Sumiko ProJect Box for $119. It is superb. Good luck! |

I have no need for a surround receiver and so when Future Shop got the HK 3380 in, I decided it was a smarter move and more cost effective. The phono preamp built into it is vastly better than what I was using. In a few years I'll probably upgrade. Now I have to wait until Tuesday for my Gemini 'table to show up. Then to pick a cartridge... |
