Stryvn, I was at the Elmo a long time ago. I caught April Wine there(recorded) as a just underager.
Absolutely fabulous place, gear to the ears, and none of it stank!
When it closed, Mick Jagger sent a letter of condolance, the Stones there were legendary.
The Stones always warm up for a tour in Toronto, and give a free show the night before it kicks off.

Still do.
For Steel Wheels, they comandeered a high school gym, and all the kids got to sit in on the sessions(or at least some).
In a nasty part of town.
How sweet is that?

And we get stuck with Elton John at Harley Davidson's 100th? A complete eff job of monumental proportions. They'll never live that one down.

Art, I have the same Three Dog Night and is sweeter than I ever remember it. Love that one. Even better, Father's Day gift from the boys.

I am a bit jealous of the Floyd - Wishing You Were Here LP. There are two in local shops here, one $50 German import and at the other a $60 Blue Vinyl copy. I want both but not at those prices.

The Floyd has one loud pop at the very beginning and is otherwise flaw free. It sounds fantastic and I paid $10 for it in Seattle, also picked Dark Side, still looking for Animals.

The Three Dog Night was $.99 and was brand new still sealed.

Art,

This is too freakin strange. My shipment from UPS finally got here with my albums that included a selection I had picked out from my Chicago dealer as well as what my daughter picked up. She actually got me a Pink Floyd - Wishing You Were Here LP without telling me. $10, significant curled lip warp which gives a "bump" sound through the first track. Oh well, its on the TT and I couldn't be happier. Oh wait, raise the queue lever, got to get Nuck's scotch.

Grunt.

Wishing's curled lip was impossible to play through on side 2. I spoke with Jan and will try backing the album at low heat between glass from cabinet shelves to see if it will flatten.

Then I put on Doors - Strange Days LP and am greeted with a serious scratch on the title track. It got better from them.

Grunt.

Very interesting regarding Music Direct, Art. I've ordered from them at least a dozen times, and never had a single problem. They've always told me exactly what I was getting and when. Then again, I don't order on-line. I always call their 800 number. Maybe this is why?

Also, BB King Live At Cook County Jail is back ordered. Appearently its in between pressings and they don't know when it'll be in. Gotta scour the net to find one.

I am literally in the middle of nearly half a dozen orders from them none of which has shipped, some of the orders go back more than a month. They have charged me on my account for something that they can't explain...they are a mess who I will not deal with anymore once my orders are complete. Too many good ones to mess with them. Check your order status next time you order Stu...it's no longer even connected to the website so you won't get any information. They stink! Sorry, I'll calm down now.....

PS - I only order from the phone....you see where it's gotten me...oh well. I'll keep runnin' up cell phone minutes babysitting them through the orders.

Stu,

I have about 500 CDs, thought I had that one, but no. Somebody may have borrowed it some time back.

I am still trying to find a B.B. King - Live at Cook County Jail on vinyl for you.

Teeing that up as soon as Three Dog Night's - Golden Bisquets LP raps up. Want to see how it compares to the Carver.

If you haven't seen it, check out my post on "McIntosh Advice" under the amps section.

Later, off to build bamboo skewer and toothpick tripods. I figure it is the cheapest way I can think of to get my wires / cables / plugs off of the floor.

Obsessed or possessed, M W?

Regarding your above comment - what about using bar chairs? Too big you say! Okay I mean those used for concrete reinforcing bar. You 'mericans may call them something different. Just a thought to save a heck of a hassle with toothpicks.

Both obsessed and possessed. I figured just get them off of the carpet. That and my oldest dog just keeps walking on my speaker wire, either doesn't see it or doesn't care. (Points down on all this you animal lovers, piercing the carpet sets it better too.)

I think I know what you are talking about M.R., a little grid that is laid down prior to the cement being poured? If it is metal or something then I think the toothpicks and bamboo work better.

Oh well, the floor is starting to look like something out of The Great Escape with Steve McQueen. LOL.

Sounds like you're well on the way to getting the job done anyway MW. I know those bar chairs used to be metal years ago, but I had a feeling plastic ones were now available, though maybe not. Anyway, you'll know where to find a toothpick if you run out. LOL.

The Beatles - Reel Music

Vinyl

Had to read it off of the LP as it was not clear what the title was from the album cover.

This one has the original shrink wrap on it as well as the original record sleeve with movie stills and a the original 12 page color souvenir program.

All songs from Beatles movies. Sounds in perfect condition.

However there is a bar code on it. Issued 1982.

Al Stewart 'time passages' from Stryvn.
It took 2 weeks to pick it up, the new post-mistress is a hag, I had to get it in person. I was away till Saturday last, I got it yesterday.

Outstanding recording, as well as the music.

The smooth vocals made me pipe up right away, and I warmed up, but Al is so smooth, so emotive and so smiling on these tracks that I just shut up.
Doesn't happen often.

Mike, did you get this lp?
Holm wanted a leg and a dick for it, I remember there were two copies.

On the tubes, nearfield with the single driver Ling's.
For which I paid 200$, broken in.

The Troggs Self Titled, played yesterday, I was so unimpressed I forgot.

Johnny Cash and The Tennessee Two - Show Time
This is another Sun label. I have to wholeheartedly agree with Frank A. on the Sun label, Sun - 106. It is mono, but it is a very fine reproduction. It is up there with Master Recording, MOFI, and almost Sheffield. This one is many years old but plays sweetly. Find me another label that offers a lifetime guarantee, including wearing out, on the back of their album cover.

Both Vinyl.

Sophie Milman - her debut jazz album, one of five I got in the mail from CD universe. WOW!

Clapton and Cale are back at the Apollo right now.

Bunch of reference material, mostly posted before as I swap out speakers on loan. No changes in the offing, just a wonderful opportunity to listen to my media through different speakers. This is really fun.

Pink Floyd - The Wall

Vinyl

Running my friend's really good bookshelfs while supplementing them with the Gallo's 2nd coil with sub-amp. REALLY SWEET...................low volume

Isn't Sophie Milman great? I have been raving on here about her for quite some time. I love her to pieces.

well... her music anyway.

She just had a new album released too. It is on her website, called "Make Someone Happy"
