New member Username: Jb2cPost Number: 8 Registered: Apr-07 | Newbie here. Looking for recc. on a 5 channel reciever. I just purchased Polk Monitor 11 speakers. My goal is first and foremost great sound. But I also want to be able to use it for some HT. Can't spend alot on it, as it is a second system in the bonus room. Probably around $200 used. I want to be sure I get enough power, as I haven't received/heard the speakers yet, so just in case I decide to go with other speakers, I'd prefer something at least 5 X 80+ watt/channel. I thought I would go with Denon/Onkyo/Yamaha/HK this time around, but open to suggestion. Any feautres to look for particularly (since I am looking only at used units)? There are soo many out there on the used market, it's really confusing for a new guy trying to choose one! JB |

Although I would prefer something that won't be old news for HT within the first year! I'd like to find something more quality oriented this time around, and Pioneer (non-PE) just doesn't sound like it. Guess I should throw Marantz and NAD into the mix too, although I've been reading the posts regarding the buzzing noise with the NAD receivers. |
