So I am a total newbie when it came to home audio stuff. I've always been an audiophile to some extent, nothing exceeds like excess, nothing to extravagant.
Anyways went to circuit city the other day to look for recievers...to make a logn story short i walked out with http://www.usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/3248.asp

To power some pretty shitty panasonic speakers my girl got with one of those home theater packages..
anyways I tell my brother about it and he reminded me that he had 6 bose speakers in storage that were barely used..
here is what I got..

2x Bose 301 series III
2x Bose model 100 J
2x 201 series 4

and coming out of my recievers sub preamp i have it going to my old reciever so i can use my old sub*dont ask..the sub had all the outs for the speakers on it*.
I now need a new sub becase this one insults the rest..its a decent sized room with hardwood flooring...
I need alot of bass because I am a dj, and I spin drum and BASS.

I shall take a picture in a minute

I don't know what I'd recommend. I bought a Paradigm Seismic 10 and blew it from playing a scene in a movie with heavy explosions. I'm going to get the Seismic 12 instead so that it can fill my large listening area. For your setup, it depends on what your size limitations are, what your relative budget is, and other things such as if you're willing to build a sub. I do know of some possibilites, but I can only make a recommendation when you can say your budget, size, and if you're willing to build one.

well actually..i have some really amazing car stereo subwoofers...
15 inch elemental designs.. 1500 watt RMS, peak is somthing like 2500..they're insane and htey're just sitting in my closet not doing anything.

That box is tuned and ported at around 33hz. I would love to be able to hook this up but i do now know how to.

T/s is a spec thing including FS resonance, Qes, Qts, etc. Do you know the exact model?

No, the guy i bought them from definately will, i can find that out whenever i wake up...they dindt make but a couple hundred of either...they're two different models..

would is be possible thus far to turn these puppies into a sub back here?
because it would shake the roof.

Yeah it's possible. Again, it depends on your budget.

Now if I were making my own sub where I could see how much volume I could get out of a 26" cube I'd use 6 of these drivers.

http://www.tcsounds.com/lms5400.htm

Then I'd use an Anthem P2 to power it...but I'm not really helping you out there am I!

Now, if you really want to use those I'd put them into a larger box for more output and you could power it with a good 1000w plate amp.

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-808

I'm not quite sure of your situation though. You could also buy power supplies, run them in parallel and use those to power your amp.

wow that sub is insane.
I could use my current phoenix gold amp to power these outside of my car? even tho the voltage is different?(i heard you can mess your stuff up) id like to try that route first until i can afford somthing like that amp

Well first off you could get a few pc power supplies and run them in parallel.

This is another discussion on this.
https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/17571.html

About your system, the only thing I'm really not too fond of are the Bose model 100's as I have these too and I find it's pretty easy to push them to their limits. Otherwise so far so good.

yeah the 100's are a bit puny and kind of iffish..they're refurbed to..oh well..cant complain..they're all free..i appreciate the help..im looking at getting an audigy sound card for its optical outs..is optical really worth it?

Optical and Coaxial digital outs don't have much difference, but I beleive they are superior to RCA or mini plugs. The sound card will sound better anyway.

word...well it seems that the best option fr powering a high wattage sub in home is with a battery and a charger. I have had 2 that have been sitting in the shed for a while..i wonder if they will work..

well i understand ive done everything else proper that I should do this right as well, but i just want a temp solution to see how the girlfriend/house/pictures react.. if i bought a 500 watt powersuppy with lot of amps on the 12v rail is there a possibilitty of damaging my subs?

If you didn't damage them before with that amp then no. The amp won't all of a sudden be able to supply more voltage just because you increased the maximum amperage available from the PSU.

so what kind of psu should i be after then? like 500 watt with 20amps on the 12v rail/ or even higher?

hmm 1200 watts amp, that should use around 120 amps at it's particular efficiency full output I'd say. You could get like 4 30 amp PSU's and wire them in parallel.

where can i get regular amp psu's(radio shack..parts express)? and what guage wire would suffice to wire it all up? would the the power source be able to handle 0AWG because thats what i ahve for my subs, and what should i ground it to?

oh i get what your saying..get 4 whatever semi high wattage psus that have 30 amps ont eh 12v ad wire em up..assuming i can do that..that still leave the 0AWG question.

all I have to say is that if you blew a seismic, you must like WAY too much bass for the good of humanity.

go buy a JBL VerTEC PA system. Those are the line array speakers that are used in arena concerts. My guess is that is the type of bass you are looking for, and you will not get it in a home speaker system with any degree of fidelity short of spending multiple thousands of dollars.

If you find it, good look keeping your hearing.

Matt, I shouldn't even bother, but here goes.
A car sub(sic) is made for thumping in a trunk.
Home audio is made for dispersio of low frequencies across a large area. The driver and enclosure are designed to fill a given area(like a living room), not just to fit into a dodge.
Buy a home sub from SVS.
Goodbye.

Nuck i dont just want them for home audio tho, I want them for cratability so i can bring them to shows for some extra bass...
I mean it is JUST bass..
For home theater purposes i can turn it down when im not practicing or producing(thats another reason i want it loud, because i want to experience it as one would at a show when i produce).

I'm perfectly willing to build some heavy duty stuff, if its worth it.
