| I have a pair of Speakers with the MTM configuration (Mid-Tweeter-Mid) . I am not sure of what kind of crossover the speakers have... I am using them as stereo speakers and I was wondering what the right placement for these speakers...The MTM config is a staggered config with the tweeter offset horizontaly and the two midbass drivers verticaly aligned. I have included a GIF which shows the arrangement of the drivers and the positioning of the speakers. Now the graphic I am talking about is at http://home.attbi.com/~c__k/Mtm.gif I have described two different placement of the speakers. one way to place them is to place the tweeters on the same side of the speakers.. the other choice is to place the tweeters mirror imaged.. not sure if this makes a difference.. or does it.. wondering which placement I should be using to get good stereo imaging .. The model of the speaker is Sony SS-TX7s thanks in advance Karthick |
Derek | Both tweeters on the outside. It is symetrical and you have a better chance of the Midbass drivers and the tweeter sound arriving at your ears at the same time. This only works if your speakers are pointed staright-ahead. If they are canted in, towards the listener then it doesn't matter which side the tweeter is on as long as they are on opposite sides when you look at them. |
| I will do just that.. i was wondering, you recomend any test material so i can get the speaker placement right.. like fav cd's or tracks so i will know what to look for when i get the placement right... thanks... |
