Best receiver for Bose Acoustimass 16?

Totally new to this stuff and just got the bose acoustimass 16. Any suggestions on best receiver to hook these up to? Is HDMI that important to have on a receiver?

pity boy with bose. any cheap reciever will be the best choice... cos they all the same to bose. and in the future if you wanna up grade. you need to get rip of bose first. good luck

No HDMI doesnt matter unless you have a nice LCD or plasma look at a yamaha something like the yamaha 5960 would do fine

I won these in a contest at work, so I didn't pay for them. But, why do you say upgrade? What's the downside to this system?

How familiar are you with Bose? Have you listened to them and have you listened to other speakers.

If you have not listened to any other speakers then you may not know the downside. They emit sounds and that is about it. to some that is enough. To some, Bose is a status symbol, sound is not important. To most who've listened to other speakers, it is utter crap.

You can always sell the Bose and use the money for better speakers and a nice receiver.

Or you could keep it and use just about any receiver on the market.

There fine for what you got them for its just there not worth the 1200$$ they retail for thats all

If you still have them in the box, you should sell them on Ebay and get something better for the resale value
