Considering one of these (used) for music (stereo and multichannel) and home theater. 300W x 7 channels into 8 ohms. Perhaps a bit excessive, but the price seems good. :-)

Apparently it needs a 20-amp circuit, which may require some minor renovations. Am I crazy to consider this?

Does anyone have experience with this or other Adcom amps? I'm also considering B&K, Outlaw, others...

GC, thats a commercial amp.
High quality, won't break. how much?
Not a beauty queen at all, but very very powerful.
If you want straight power without much coloration, this may be right. If anything, the amp may be warm, but that's from my band days.

If the price is good, then a HQ source could make this go very well.

Uh-oh. I'm lacking in knowledge here. Commercial means what? Not for home use?

Price ~$1700.

Thanks for your input, Nuck.

GC, apologies here, the 7807 is still n the home usage range, but truth be told, it would rather drive bass bins.
The 7 channel amp will run anything you can conjur up, including stage monitors.
This amp is a monster.
Huge, vast amounts of reserves, it will drive speakers as big as a 2-bedroom home.

Not for the faint of heart.

And a 20 amp dedicated circuit is nominal.

Thanks Nuck.

I'm still considering it among my options, but perhaps it is overkill... And I need to talk to my electrician.

But at least I have a sense now of its capabilities and uses.

Thanks again.

GC, don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with that amp.
Nothing says excess like too much.
No problem with the Adcom at all, one pull of wiring and a breaker is all it takes.

This amp has a lot of potential for anything down the road.
