Hello, i'm going to buy an amp and im not sure about the Ohms. One amp is 200$ and gives 80w @ 2 ohms. the other is 400$ and gives 80w @ 8 ohms. is 8 ohms better or worse?

What kind of amp/receiver would even RATE @2ohms?
With that puny output, it must be a misprint/misread.
80@8 ohms is fine.

80W into 2 ohms might translate to 20W into 8 ohms. On the other hand, a rating for 2 ohms is impressive (if it's not a misprint) as most amplifiers can't handle the load and are not rated for it.

What are the speakers rated at?

8 ohms is a rating standard
