I won an HK-3250 on fleabay for $20. I will hook it up to my Ohm FRS-11 speakers. I think it will be fine, but noticed that it does not have a phono input. I am so new to vinyl that I am not sure if it will work if I plug my reccord player into one of the other inputs. Any suggestions? Anyone have experience with this receiver model?

Thanks all

you need a phono preamp. Pro-ject makes a ok one for cheap. You can assign your input to whatever your not using. But you will need a phono preamp. Typically phono output is very low (usually measured in millivolts), where as that reciever may accept up to 2 full volts (i'm guessing you may wish to investigate that)

Not too sure how serious you are about vinyl, others may disagree but it is an econmical choice. You've done well if you have a working harmon kardon for $20.

Let us know how you have made out, and i would be interested in knowing what you have paired up with your hk phono player wise and how it works out. Good luck.
