Silver Member Username: Uback007Post Number: 119 Registered: Mar-06 | I would go with a Cambridge Audio 540c v.1 hands down...get some great bang for the buck connects from www.signalcable.com - the ones that are $50 for a 1 meter set - I installed them after I got my pre-owned 540 v.1 and was blown away by the difference in sound. There's no need to spend a ton of money on cables, these babies sound every bit as good as cables that I tested with the unit that cost $500..no kidding... check them out. |
Silver Member Username: HawkHighlands Ranch, CO USA Post Number: 875 Registered: Dec-03 | Raider: I know you said no player over $320, but frankly, you can get a killer NAD 542 for just a few dollars more. DMC Electronics (dmc-electronics.com) is currently offering factory refurbished NAD C542s for $349. a Great player in its own right and a killer for that price. Just an idea . . . |
Gold Member Username: Frank_abelaBerkshire UK Post Number: 1598 Registered: Sep-04 | Wow, that is a great price for an excellent little player. The NAD C542 retails for nearer $500 in the UK! Raider, if you can go the extra couple of cds-worth, that's an excellent little machine. Regards, Frank. |
