I thought it would be interesting to see what the celebrity from music industry use for there audio needs.
As i read some where and from memory ........
Diana Krall uses Totem Arro for speakers Pink Floyd - ATC speakers Michael jackson has recorded his best albums on Monster cables exclusively. Robbie Williams recorded his first album using PMC Speaker
I hope there are more nosy people around interested to know and share information they have - or may be just me.
The Last ones he recorded in different studios , mainly London and New York, not sure which ones.
Also Surprised best were recorded in thailand - always good to know something new .
I think whenever they interview a celebrity in say a magazine there should be one question for what they use or like etc. (am i nosy - may be just curious cause i always think what would i buy if money wasnt a issue )
But may be they have other people to worry about that and hardly are much into all these equations.
I would dearly love to see the setup that Quincy Jones has for personal listening.
His work on Jackson's albums was and is amazing..
Although I can count Michael Jackson songs that I care for on one hand, the recordings are some of the best, most electric sounds that I have heard. That's Quincy's work.
Diana Krall and her speakers are both Canadian...any connection?? Ummm yeah.
Totem speakers are now sold in discount stores here in Canada, nice stuff but discount stores? What were they thinking? I can buy $4500 speakers from a $6.50/hour employee? No thanks.
great point Quinn. Other than Nararro, I haven't seen anything but Sony and Bose. I saw a rapper on Cribs (I have no idea nor care who he is) brag about his Bose system in his Escalade.
My brother used to live next door to the guitar player from one of my favorite metal bands in Newport Beach, California. For identity purposes I won't mention his name or band, although they're very well known.
He had the space age looking Halcro electronics (the over $100K variety) and Wilson speakers. I've never heard anything remotely close to what I heard in his listening room.
...Now that I think about it, it's kind of pointless to mention the stereo and not the celebrity.
Irvington is about 20 miles north of NYC; Westchester County.
Home of the absurdly rich and most self-centered people on the face of the earth. Needless to say, Mrs. Stu and I stick out like a sore thumb. Our driveway which consists of my '97 Volvo and her '04 Corolla is the laughing stock of the neighborhood.
The Buckethead moved away to bigger and better places. Unfortunately, my brother did not. He's now back home in my parent's basement in Albany, NY.
The buckethead didn't care about any material things other than his guitars, stereo, and cars. He was happy buying the old house he grew up in and BBQing with my brother and his roomate. His wife had other plans though.
Funny thing is... my brother had no idea who his neighbor was until I came out to visit. We were BBQing in his back yard with his family when he came home. My reaction was "Are you f**king kidding me?"
